JS Humidifiers is launching the World’s most compact gas-fired steam humidifier, the Neptronic SKG. A unit with a 100kg/h output of steam has a footprint of just 610mm by 560mm making it ideal for cramped plant rooms.

The running costs for the Neptronic SKG are 85% cheaper than electric steam humidifiers, resulting in a payback of around 12 months when replacing existing electrode boiler units.

The SKG has been designed to make maintenance quick and simple. Every steam humidifier will build-up scale as the minerals present in the water are left behind during evaporation. How a humidifier deals with this problem determines how easy it is to maintain. The SKG incorporates a quick release tank mechanism allowing limescale build-up to be emptied in less than five minutes from start to finish. The same maintenance on competitors’ units can take up to four hours.

Also, the heat exchanger of the SKG is a patented spiralling design that fluctuates significantly in size during operation. This increase and decrease in size literally cracks the scale from the surface, keeping the exchanger clean and fully efficient. The scale that falls off is either flushed away to drain or collects in the bottom of the boiling tank, which due to the quick release mechanism, is very quick and easy to empty.

The Neptronic SKG has the widest modulation and highest output from a single unit. The largest SKG has a massive output of 400kg/h with a minimum output of just 5kg/h, providing excellent control over humidity even at low requirements. This humidifier still only has single connections for water, drain, gas, electricity and flue making it easy to install.

A patented solid state water level sensor helps maintain the correct level of water in the boiling chamber, even if there is severe foaming. Other humidifiers that use float level sensors can be inaccurate when foam fills the tank as the float rests upon the foam. The SKG’s solid state water level sensor can recognise the difference between foam and water, ensuring that the correct water level is always maintained, helping to provide utmost control over output.

The Neptronic SKG can be used with any type of water, even deionised or reverse osmosis. It is constructed to the highest quality with a 316 stainless steel combustion chamber, evaporation chamber and heat exchanger with powder coated cold roll steel cabinet, and is CE and WRAS approved. The humidifier is also available in a weatherproof enclosure for use outside.
