Why gas?
Gas humidifiers are ideal for any installation with a requirement of at least 50kg/h of steam and an available gas source.
The savings obtained using a 180kg/h gas unit instead of an equivalent electrode boiler humidifier over one year (1,321 hours) would pay back the difference in purchase cost in around 12 months.
Over the first five years the energy and maintenance savings would total a massive £50,000
This is reason enough to consider replacing existing electrode boiler humidifiers with more economical gas-fired units but as well as the costs savings there are also other advantages:

Neptronic SKG - gas-fired steam humidifier
The Neptronic SKG has the World's smallest footprint of any gas-fired humidifier. A 100kg/h unit has a footprint of just 610mm by 560mm making it ideal for plant rooms where space is at a premium.
It has also been designed with maintenance in mind. Every steam humidifier builds up scale, when run from mains water, as the minerals present in the water are left behind during evaporation. Scale build-up in the SKG is absolutely minimised by the patented spiral heat exchanger. This unique design expands and contracts significantly during operation, which literally cracks the scale from the surface to keep the heat exchanger clean and fully efficient. The result is a marked contrast to the performance of flat or tubular heat exchangers.
Scale is either washed away during flush cycles or accumulates as fragments in the bottom of the boiling tank. Periodically, the tank needs to be removed to empty out the scale fragments. Again, the SKG’s unique design takes account of this. There’s a quick-release mechanism on the boiling tank to allow it to be lowered, removed and emptied of scale in less than five minutes. It also makes manual handling safer and minimises the space needed around the unit for maintenance.

The largest SKG has a massive output of 400kg/h with a minimum output of just 8.7kg/h, providing excellent control over humidity even at low requirements. This humidifier still only has single connections for water, drain, gas, electricity and flue making it easy to install.
